Ellen Maglicic Kramer is a founding member of Cohen Rosenthal & Kramer LLP.  After law school, Ellen served as a law clerk for United States Bankruptcy Judge R. Guy Cole, Jr., who was Chief Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 2014 to 2021.  Ellen’s practice focuses on sophisticated corporate and commercial disputes.  She has represented employees, consumers, shareholders, debtors, creditors, receivers, bankruptcy trustees, public school districts, limited liability companies and victims of legal malpractice.

Ellen is dedicated to serving the public and advocating for the underserved.  The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland has relied on Ellen for many years to handle pro bono cases.  In 2016, Ellen was a keynote speaker about her representation of pro bono clients at Legal Aid’s annual luncheon.  Additionally, as a participant in the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service for several years, Ellen regularly fields legal questions without charge for Ohioans who do not have access to a regular attorney.  Ellen is an active member of the Bar Association’s Bar Admissions committee.

Ellen was elected to the Brecksville Broadview Heights City School District School Board in 2017 and again in 2021, and has been Vice President of the Board since January 2021.  Ellen lives in Brecksville with her husband, John, and has three grown children, Luke, Mia and Peter.  In her free time, Ellen loves to run, read, travel, play board games and walk her dogs.
